The following players have been selected for the MVP Awards:
Female MVP [Open Division]: Mariani Setiawan Won the Open mixed doubles championship with an inspiring display of offense, consistency and especially defense. All that with a poised on-court presence and a charming off-court personality makes her a natural selection for this title.
Female MVP [Senior Division]: Ismat Sheikh On display was an exceptional all round performance combined with sheer endurance of playing the open as well as senior events.
Male MVP [Open division]: Ferry Wijaya's dashing dives salvaged more than a few points for his team and secured a place in Open Men's doubles final. His enthusiasm for the sport of badminton is contagious and is one of the favorite players to root for in the Texas badminton community.
Male MVP [Senior Division]: Carl Khor Though Carl's team fell short in the finals, he put on a fierce display of offense and aggression to control the match and extend it to 3 games. His ability to push the shuttle at the net and apply consistent pressure on the opponent is legendary in the Dallas area and was a key component in a highly competitive final.
